WinVideo 2.00 : The new graphical user interface WINVIDEO ( WWW.WINVIDEO.NET) management software is divided into two separate sections.A management section devoted to data processing, and an interface protocol that interacts with the firmware (or driver) made by the manufacturer of the automated video dispenser. The management software connects with the interface through standard protocol commands. The plug and play style peripheral identification avoids any reconfiguring technical intervention. Compatibility with other systems for new installations WINVIDEO software is compatible with several systems and automated dispensers already installed in video rental stores. It can work with other systems with no need to discard existing resources. Clients already possessing other models of automated video dispensers needn’t diversify their management. Each automated dispenser is ready to take advantage of the WINVIDEO software multimedia features. Local area networks - LAN WINVIDEO is compatible with all types of local area networks, Novell, Microsoft, Lantastic systems included. Within a store , Winvideo networking allows several machines to be linked , increasing users capacity and allowing the to function as a single system . All networked machines then access to a shared film list and rentals and returns can be accepted at any of the machines. Additional "selector / totem" units ( separate selection/reservation stations) can be networked with your Buster24 dispenser unit, allowing more users to browse and make selections. This allow you to adapt your store to the growth in your user base , so users do not have to wait in line ( typical automated video rental store concept ) . Internet area Network WINVIDEO is ready to handle stand-alone / free standing Buster24h units using a common ADSL/ DSL Internet line. With sophisticated Internet-based technologies and software architecture, Winvideo software permit 24/7 remote management by the System Admin. from any Internet-connected personal computer. Multiple machines can be networked and remotely controlled from by a single PC in your office or home.
Graphics The installation target system is Windows running a proprietary graphical user interface. Graphic modes ranging from 640x480 pixel up to 10240x768 pixel and 18 million colours are supported. Electronic pictures (vhs-dvd covers) .jpg format are supported . WInvideo is able to resize the electronic pictures according to the video dimension with no external intervention. A multilevel image zooming system and a background customization system are available as in an html tag. Rental or Sale products with credit card / fidelity member card Users can use credit cards and/or cash to top up their fidelity membership cards, to rent and/or buy products. Consequently membership is not strictly required and everyone can rent /purchase a product from any automated dispenser. Intelligent Overbooking The software lets the dispenser manage more film copies than its actual capacity, taking into account rented films that are not physically in the machines. If there is an unexpected high volume of returns, the software will automatically remove the least rented title and accept the returned film.
Returning Box feature This is the system used by the Buster24h dispensers to selectively eject products from the rear side of the storage unit . It handles the management of products rented inside the shop and returned through the dispenser. Remote Management from anywhere with an Internet connection / modem : Modem / internet connection is the primary element of Winvideo software. Modem / Internet enables the system admin. / videostore manager to: -connect with all his automated dispensers at any moment -check at once whether his dispensers work -transparently receive software upgrades -connect several dispensers for cross-reservations -check the rental and return of products involving two dispensers -connect to the information service to receive assistance at distance or / and other information about the products -insert advertisements, announcements, banners etc.
GSM short message telereservation – BASIC ( WWW.WINVIDEO.NET )If a product is not available, the user edit his own GSM mobile phone number using the steel buster keyboard . An SMS short message back to his own mobile phone will inform him of the reserved product’s return and consequent availability. Products’ remote consultation and reservation by means of GSM short message–INTERACTIVE ( WWW.WINVIDEO.NET )This option gives users direct access to the inventory of titles in a machine simply by means of sms short messages. It gives the videostore manager / system admin. A real-time information about the working of his automated dispensers. It enables the user to reserve movies directly through sms short messages sent by his own GSM mobile. Winvideo Internet / Web telereservation module + web server ( WWW.WINVIDEO.NET )This complete software option enables users to reserve products from home / office ecc.. This option gives customers direct access to the inventory of titles in a machine simply by clicking on its Internet address. It is then possible to reserve a title in advance. Winvideo technology uses a very high security mangement and a complete automation of all processes. All web code is written by Winvideo : there is no need of human help . All products as showned on the web with the on-line availability, additional infos related to the images, categories, descriptions etc. Final , user can easily reserve a product : he has only to fill a form. Then , users shall go to the automated dispenser to pick up the products they have reserved. Customer service All software upgrades are distributed via ftp internet protocol, through switched network or direct connection. The System Admin. / Videostore manager can choose to receive automatically at his assistance centre any malfunction notice from the installed dispensers. Reliability WINVIDEO is designed to work even in bad conditions. The complete or partial stop of a single system element does not halt the others. The dispenser can be switched off and switched on again without causing problems. Dynamic storage allocation All Networked automated video dispensers are enabled to get returns and pick-up of the products to any remote or local point (with possible billing to the users). Owing to the integrated system "selector" + "dispenser" , the users have complete access to the products list of the whole network ( database ) from each dispenser. The video will be directly withdrawn, when available in the dispenser being used. When the product is available in a nearby dispenser, the user will be advised to reach the dispenser with the chosen product. When the product is available in another remote automated dispenser, the user will be able to reserve it according to the terms and prices settled by the videostore manager / system admin. If the product is not available, the user can reserve it through his own GSM mobile phone. If a user doesn’t want to go to the dispenser, web / internet reservations by means of a PC with access to internet are possible. An user with an Nokia 9000 Communicator can browse the title list directly on his display and reserve the product. If the user doesn’t want to go to the dispenser and if he has a GSM mobile, he can communicate with the automated dispenser through sms messages exchange.
